Sri Harimandir Sahib, Amritsar
The Harimandir Sahib (meaning Temple of God) is also commonly known as the Golden Temple or Darbar Sahib (Divine Court). It is situated in the city of Amritsar in Punjab. The Golden Temple is a living symbol of the spiritual and historical traditions of the Sikhs. It is a source of inspiration for all Sikhs and their chief place of pilgrimage.
This yatra covers
- Golden Temple, Jalianwala Bagh and a visit to the Wagha Border.
- The extended version adds Tarn Taran Sahib, Goindwal Sahib and Gurudwara Baba Budha Ji.
2 Nights / 3 Days — Amritsar
Arrive Amritsar by air or rail. Met at the airport or station and transferred to the hotel. Rest, then evening darshan at Sri Harimandir Sahib and langar inside the complex. Night at hotel.
Amritvela darshan at the Golden Temple, followed by the Akal Takht and the parkarma. After breakfast, Jallianwala Bagh and the Partition Museum. Late afternoon drive to the Wagha Border (approx 28 km) for the retreat ceremony, returning to Amritsar for the night.
Morning darshan again if you wish, then Gurudwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Deep Singh Ji and Durgiana Temple. Transfer to the airport or railway station for departure.
