Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib
Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib is a complex consisting of several important shrines linked to the younger sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh. It is located about 5 km north of Sirhind and 40 km from Chandigarh, and marks the site of the execution in 1705 of the two younger sons of the tenth Sikh master at the behest of Wazir Khan of Kunjpura, the faujdar of Sirhind. The main entrance to the complex was built by Maharaja Yadvindra Singh of Patiala in 1952. The historical wall where the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh were bricked has been preserved here; the sanctuary containing it is known as Gurudwara Bhora Sahib.
Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib
A birthplace of the Khalsa, it was here on March 30th, 1699 that Guru Gobind Singh baptized 5 Sikhs with amrit (sweetened water) stirred with his Khanda and called them his Five Beloved Ones, giving them the last name ‘Singh’, which means Lion. Guru Gobind Singh then humbly bowed before the Five Beloved Ones and asked them to initiate Him into the Khalsa Brotherhood.
5 Nights / 6 Days — Delhi to the Punjab circuit
Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Darshan at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. Night at hotel.
Drive Delhi to Fatehgarh Sahib (approx 270 km). Darshan at Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurudwara Bhora Sahib, where the historic wall has been preserved. Continue to Chandigarh (approx 42 km) for the night.
Chandigarh to Anandpur Sahib (approx 90 km). Darshan at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, then Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Anandgarh Qila. Night at Anandpur Sahib or Ropar.
Drive to Amritsar (approx 230 km), stopping at Gurudwara Kiratpur Sahib en route. Check in, then evening darshan at Sri Harimandir Sahib. Night at hotel.
Amritvela at the Golden Temple, the Akal Takht and Jallianwala Bagh. Afternoon to Tarn Taran Sahib (approx 25 km) and Goindwal Sahib (a further 23 km). Return for the Wagha retreat ceremony if time allows. Night at Amritsar.
Final darshan, then transfer to the airport or railway station for departure.
